Welcome to Daniel Matson's ISSN graduate portfolio
College and Career Plan
Currently I have applied to the University of Texas at Austin, Baylor University, Texas A&M University, and Texas Tech University. I believe that I am a competitive applicant to these four schools because of my varied and extensive resume and distinct experiences. While at one of these colleges I am hoping to study either finance, business, political science, or a combination of the three. I have recently visited Texas Tech University and was very impressed with their business college and finance programs.
After college, I am not entirely sure what career I want to go into. However some options that I am currently interested in and hoping to looking more into include work as a personal finance adviser or an investment banker, a lobbyist, and administration and management positions. While taking a business class at Austin High, I learned a lot about finance and the economy and I know that these things I have learned will help me pursue a career working in finance. I also have an interest in politics which would translate to working as a lobbyist or perhaps even a politician. Finally, my many leadership experiences in Student Council, among other things, and work as head-lifeguard this past summer have helped me to form an interest in leading and managing others.
